Omar Calvillo Biography The artist was born August 30, 1975 in Guatemala City, Republic of Guatemala, Central America. His childhood and youth were spent in one of the most traditional neighborhoods of the Historic Center of Guatemala City so it grows surrounded by history, legends, customs and traditions, both of which mark his work. While still a child the start in 1986 at the age of 11 years, Omar Calvillo involved in the children's painting contest "Paint your country to the world" organized by a prestigious transnational textile firm offering a high recognition and a strong showing from early and artistic movement. The personal encounter at the age of 15 years, in 1990 in the secondary school where she won first place in the contest of verse and his paintings "Windmills" wins the painting competition.
